Charles Leroy Dash, Sr. , 66, of Bronx, NY passed away on June 8, 2020 in Bronx, New York.

Private funeral services will be held for Mr. Dash.

Drive-Thru Viewing is scheduled from 2 to 7 PM Friday, June 19, 2020, at Williams Funeral Home of Elloree.

Charles Leroy Dash Sr. ( affectionately known as Larry Love ) was born October 24, 1953 in Calhoun County, South Carolina.  The youngest of 12 children he was preceded in death by his parents, James Dash Sr. and Elizabeth Huggins Dash.

At an early age he attended Mt. Zion AME Church in Creston, SC with his mother. He grew up with his siblings in Elloree where he received his formal education.  In his late teens he left South Carolina to travel to New York City where he later got a job working with his older brother James. One of several jobs he maintained over the years included working at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  He worked as a painter and transporting cars for a dealership.

While in New York he met and later married Mae Kathryn Miller on February 27, 1974; a union which spanned 46 years.

Larry was a people person he knew everyone and it seemed everyone knew him.  He lived life to the fullest. Enjoying fishing, driving his Cadillac, playing his music loud, cooking and shooting the breeze with his family and friends.  He was quoted as saying "When you are good to people, people are good to you".  If he could help you he would.  He was a loyal friend and loved his family fiercely.

He departed this life on June 8, 2020 at Montefiore Einstein Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y, after a brief illness.

Charles leaves to cherish his loving memory a devoted and loving wife Mae Kathryn Dash (Bronx, NY); two loving daughters Deanna C. Dash (Bronx, NY) and Kathryn Dash (Bronx, NY);  three devoted Sons: Travis L. (Audrey) Dash Branchville SC, Jabreil T. Dash (Bronx, NY) and Charles L. Dash Jr. (Bronx, NY); one sister Wilhelmina Dash Hanton (Orangeburg SC), and one sister-in-law Henreitta Dash (Charleston, SC); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
