Eartha Lee
Williams
Nov 13, 1929 — Oct 5, 2020
Vance
Eartha Lee Williams, the daughter of the late Willie & Missouri Olin Prezzy was born on November 13, 1929 in Vance, SC. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 5, 2020 after a brief illness.
She joined Rock Hill A.M.E. Church at an early age, where she became an active member of the Usher Board, Senior Choir, and the Stewardess Board. She attended Lodge Hall School. She had a great passion for fishing, and she also played basketball with the Elloree Basketball team in Elloree, SC. She was employed with Skyline, Ltd, Elloree Sewing Room, Bowman and Roseville Manufacturing Companies for over 20 years.
In 1949, she was united in marriage to the late Julius Williams, where seven (7) children were born. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mamie R. Guess, and stepson, Will T. Williams.
She had a discerning and kind heart filled with love and compassion for everyone she knew and met, as well as a passion for cooking, as she welcomed all who came to "sit at the table". For all who knew her, one of her signature dishes was "stewed chicken". If anyone came around in early or later years, there would never be a conversation without this dish being mentioned or prepared.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving children, Maude (Robert) Asberry, Johnny (Catherine) Williams, Willie L. (Johnnie Mae) Williams all of Vance, SC; Louise (Darnnell Gaillard) Williams of Ridgeville, SC; Marie Wright of Atlanta, GA; Reedy (Diedre Parker) Williams of Columbia, SC; a special loving granddaughter, Movet "Stenie" Guess of the home; two (2) Sisters-In-Law, Hattie Williams and Blondell Davis of Vance, SC; one (1) Brother-in-Law, Woodrow (Shirley) Williams also of Vance, SC; Companion, Dorothy (Pepper) Brown; twenty-one (21) Grandchildren; forty-five (45) Great Grandchildren, fourteen (14) Great-great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
