Mrs. Geraldine Denise (Gerald) Nelson of 329 Galveston Drive, Elloree died on Friday, June 5, 2015.

Gerald, as she was affectionately known, was born on February 15, 1959 to Vivian Williams Steward and the late Isaac Bradley, Jr. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA but later relocated to the Elloree and Santee, SC area where she graduated from the Elloree High School in 1976 and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, Orangeburg, SC receiving a Certificate in Tool and Dye. She worked at Hughes Aircraft, Orangeburg, SC for several years and other companies. Gerald's most recent employment was with the Dwight Insurance Company assisting elderly individuals in the surrounding areas.

At an early age she was baptized and became a member of the Granger Baptist Church, Elloree, SC.

Gerald was preceded in death by her father Isaac Bradley, Jr., maternal grandparents Thomas and Lillie Williams, paternal grandparents Isaac and Rosa Lee Bradley; and mother-in-law Jessie Nelson.

Gerald was united in holy matrimony to Leroy Nelson, Jr. on August 22, 1996. Gerald was always called by her husband as "my wife" all the time.

Gerald will be remembered for her unselfish, loving spirit. She would always put the needs of others above her own. If Gerald called you a friend, you were a friend forever. Because of her loving spirit, Gerald treated everyone the same and lived Matthew 22:16, she was ..."no respecter of person." Gerald's love of life spilled over to all that she met. Her love was shown through her genuine concern for others well-being by always being there for them. This love spread out to everyone she touched. Gerald touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Gerald leaves loving memories to be cherished by her husband and best friend Leroy Nelson of the home; one (1) devoted and loving son Isaac Rihine (Deidre Keitt) Stewart of Cameron, SC; her mother Vivian Steward of Elloree, SC; two (2) step-daughters Hersey James of Holly Hill, SC and Sherrell Keitt of Orangeburg, SC; eleven grandchildren, Isasia, Keiasia and Rihine Stewart of Cameron, SC, Georgia, Tyree, Kyree, Kemauri, Kemonta, Joshua, Caden, and Kyra. One (1) sister: Dorothy Frederick of Santee; three (3) brothers, Samuel Stewart of Norwalk, CT, Willie Bradley of Elloree, SC, and Andre (Jeanette Void) Bradley of Santee, SC; her father-in-law Leroy Nelson, Sr. of Philadelphia, PA; six (6) sisters-in-law: Luvenia (Sammie Lee) Smith of Santee, SC, Yvonne Nelson of Columbia, SC, Sharon Nelson and Cynthia Fuller both of Holly Hill, SC, Sandra Fuller of Orangeburg, SC, Patricia Robinson of Charleston, SC; one (1) brother-in-law Richard Marty Wright of Bronx, NY; eight (8) aunts; five (5) uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nelson will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 12, 2015, at Granger Baptist Church, 280 Carriage Hill Rd., Elloree with Rev. Dr. Edward Prince, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation at Williams Funeral Home of Elloree is scheduled on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
