Mr. Howard Simmons, Sr., of 128 Montegue Street, Santee, son of the late Coren and Daisy "Mank" Simmons was born June 10, 1928 in Vance, South Carolina and died peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center. He is predeceased by his wife, Mulvenia Myers Simmons; one daughter, Gladys "Ruth" Keller, four brothers and four sisters.

Those left to cherish his memories are five devoted children: Eliza Jamison of Columbia, SC; Barbara Jean Simmons of the home; Howard Jr., (Ruby) Simmons of Orangeburg, SC; Ricky (Rose) Simmons of Bowman, SC; Brenda (Leon) Simmons Lee of Beaufort, SC. One brother, Frank (Lara) Simmons of Cross, SC, one son-in-law, Daniel Keller of Santee, SC; one sister-in-law Samella Graham of Washington, DC; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Simmons will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Providence Baptist Church, 320 Mt. Olive Rd., Santee with the Rev. Lonnie J. Robinson,III Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery, Vance, SC.

Visitation at the funeral home is scheduled on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
