Mrs. Veronica C. DuBose of 181 Avocado Drive, Santee died on September 11, 2015 at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.

Mother Veronica C. DuBose was truly a fighter in the Army of the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her God. Her joy was to go to church and praise Jesus in song and her favorite shout and dance.

Mother DuBose was the daughter of the late James and Rosa Lee Canty. She was born on July 23, 1937 in Orangeburg County, Santee (Parler), SC.

She attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. At an early age she attended various other churches. In 1986 she rededicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and joined the United Holiness Christ Deliverance Center, where she served faithfully as one of the Church Mothers.

She was joined in Holy Wedlock to Mr. Jessie DuBose, Jr. on November 12, 1954. To this union eleven (11) children were born, one of which preceded her in death (Bro. Clayton DuBose).

She leaves to cherish her memories: 10 children, Randy and Sandy of Tampa, FL, Jessie (Barbara) DuBose, III, Kim (Mary), and Tyrone (Audrey) of Orangeburg, SC; Martha (Willie) Gilmore, Annette, Leroy, Jeffrey and Avis DuBose, all of Santee, SC. Three brothers, James (Vera) Canty, Eddie (Lula) Canty, and Isaac (Ada) Canty, all of Tampa, FL. Three sisters, Sarah Canty of Tampa, FL, Bertha Gaillard of Santee, SC, and Virgil Canty of Hartsford, CT. A loving daughter-in-law, Rhonda Aiken; 2 brothers-in-law; 4 sisters-in-law; 16 grandchildren, 2 adopted grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a special spiritual adopted daughter, Sis. Barbara Void, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She also leaves two close family friends, Ms. Linda Carter and Sis. Theroda Sindy Britt.

*Mother DuBose had a special God-given gift of taking care of others during their illness. This gift was very evident as she took care of her mother, her husband and her son until their passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. DuBose will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the United Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center, Santee, SC with Apostle Grant Wilkinson, Jr., Overseer and Pastor Raymond Smith officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the Parlerville AME Church Cemetery.

Visitation at Williams Funeral Home of Elloree is scheduled from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday September 16, 2015.
