Obituary

Warren "Jean" Gantt, was born on September 01, 1945 to her late parents Annie Mae Profit Pauling and Fessie Profit in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. She departed her life on September 11, 2021, at her residence in Santee, South Carolina.

Jean attended the Elloree Trade Schools of Elloree, SC. Jean met and married her true love and soul mate James Gantt. At an early age and with a middle school education, they both moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. She found employment with Casco Manufactory where she remained for thirty years.  Bridgeport was where she made her home, raised three sons, grandchildren, and enjoyed many friends and family. Jean , was a very soft-spoken woman that enjoyed laughter.  She had the most boisterous laugh and smile that was contagious. She never complained about any of her trials in life, always trusting in God to see her through.

In 2014, Jean and Sam retired and moved back to South Carolina. With the help from family and friends they never were alone. They did everything together. A love that would stand the test of time. Jean , a devoted and loving wife, my mother, watch and provided care to my father Sam , as he battled cancer until he entered eternal rest on 08/26/2021. We talked all the time as she would share with me how her days went.  My mother and I shared a very close bond.

She is preceded in death by her two sons Robert L. Gantt and John Edward Gantt; two sisters, Annie Lee Bouldrick and Albertha Guess; one brother Fessie Profit Jr.

Jean leaves to cherish her fond memories: loving son, James (Coraly) Gantt of Bridgeport, CT; two brothers, Albert (Tijuana) Profit, Suitland, Maryland and Sam Profit of Detroit, Michigan; two brother in laws, John E. Gantt of Deby, CT and Marion "Paul" Gantt of Santee, SC; four sister in laws, Inez (Clay) Goodwin of Philadelphia, PA, Jerlene Gantt of Bridgeport, CT, Mary Jackson of Milford, CT, Elaine Gantt, Santee, SC; The Staton Family of Bridgeport, CT; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, three step granddaughters, one step grandson, three step great granddaughters, three great step grandsons, and friends.
